New Hope Group, which just won the first prize of the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, has a new cooperation with Sichuan Agricultural University!

On August 28, the 2024 Sichuan Science and Technology Awards were announced. The project "Porcine Intestinal Microbial Function and Targeted Nutritional Regulation Technology and Application," jointly submitted by Sichuan Agricultural University, New Hope Liuhe, and Tequ Group, won the First Prize of the Sichuan Science and Technology Progress Award. This is the highest award received by an agricultural research project (including individual projects) in this list of winners.

He Jun, professor at Sichuan Agricultural University and the project leader, explained that for a long time, challenges such as low health levels, limited growth potential, a shortage of high-quality feed resources, and high dependence on imported soybean meal have severely hampered the healthy and stable development of the pig farming industry in Sichuan and even nationwide. Since 2009, Sichuan Agricultural University has led a collaborative technical research effort in collaboration with leading domestic pig farming and feed production companies, aiming to effectively address these challenges, ensure healthy and happy pigs, and safeguard the healthy development of the pig industry.

New Hope Liuhe explained that as one of the key participants in the project, the company actively collaborated with experts to address key issues in pig farming, such as intestinal health management and antibiotic replacement. After over a decade of arduous research and repeated experiments, the project established a targeted nutritional control technology system, successfully developing new feed formulas, probiotic nutritional parameters, and a series of probiotic nutritional products. This enables scientific feeding and precise regulation of pigs, helping to improve pig health and fully stimulate their growth potential.

 New Hope is utilizing China's leading in vitro bionic digestion assessment platform for livestock and poultry to optimize feed formulations.

Currently, the project's findings have been applied by over 100 pig farming and feed production companies in China, effectively addressing practical challenges such as high morbidity, low feed conversion efficiency, and poor pork quality.

In addition, New Hope Liuhe's participation in the "Creation and Industrial Application of National New Product Copper Citrate for Feed" project also won second prize in the 2024 Sichuan Science and Technology Progress Award.

On September 3, 2025, the launch meeting of the "Sichuan Key Laboratory of Animal Nutrition and Efficient Feed Utilization," jointly established by New Hope Liuhe and Sichuan Agricultural University, was held. The laboratory was formed by the strong combination of the former "Sichuan Key Laboratory of Quality and Safety Control of Animal Feed and Animal Products" built on the basis of New Hope and the former "Sichuan Key Laboratory of Animal Disease Resistance Nutrition" built on the basis of Sichuan Agricultural University. It uses feed scientific and technological innovation to ensure efficient and healthy animal breeding and stable supply of animal products, realizes the integration of production, education, research and application, and becomes a strategic highland for scientific and technological innovation and transformation of results and talent training in feed nutrition and animal health breeding.
